When you add a Strong Spa to your home, you are making a long term investment in your health and well being. Setting your hot tub to the perfect temperature will ensure you receive the maximum benefits of your hydrotherapy experience.
Determining the best temperature for your spa requires taking into account your age, health, and preference of you and other guests in the tub, too!
Optimal Temperature For Adults
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has determined that adults should not soak in temperatures above 104 °F (40 °C) due to the dangerous risk of heatstroke. Most spa owners set their hot tub between 100 °F and 102 °F (37.5 °C – 39 °C) and healthy adults are safe to soak in these temperatures for twenty minutes at a time.
The recommended temperature for kids in the hot tub is 95 °F and they should not soak for longer than 15 minutes at a time.
Gradually Raise Your Temperature
If you are unsure what temperature you are comfortable soaking at, start with a temperature close to that of your body between 98 – 99 °F and gradually increase until you feel hot, but not overheated. You will know if your tub is too hot if you feel the need to get out and cool off after just a few minutes of soaking. Don’t push yourself beyond your body’s limits!
Consider Your Guests
Take into account the age, health, and needs of all the people in the tub to come to a compromise in temperature, so everyone stays comfortable and safe!
How long will it take for my Strong Spa to warm up?
When you fill-up your tub for the first time, it can take 18-24 hours for the water to reach 100°F (38C°C)
After the initial warm-up, your spa will be able to maintain this temperature due to its energy efficiency system, sealed cabinet insulation, and the fully-insulated Durashield cover. Your spa will be ready to go when you are!
Remember, if you plan to leave your hot tub full and running, you still need to maintain the water! Your spa won’t stay clear and clean even if no one has been bathing in awhile, so make sure you continue to test and balance your water like you should!
